A SOCCER-mad Hampshire dad is hoping history will repeat itself on FA Cup day after he toasts a unique piece of Saints memorabilia.

Father-of-three James Morgan will drink champagne around the shirt worn by Matt Le Tissier in one of Southampton's many victories against our Cup Final opponents Arsenal.

But it was not just any victory.

The legendary ex-striker wore the top as he scored the winning last goal in the last minute of the last league match at the Dell, pushing the score to 3 - 2.

Another 3 - 2 win against the London premiership team on May 17 would suit James just fine.

The managing director, who lives near Fareham, paid nearly £4,000 for the shirt while he said he was "slightly the worse for wear".

He said: "I didn't sleep that night - I was worrying what the wife was going to say."

But wife Amanda, 35, turned out to be very good about the whole thing, he added.

The good luck charm is far too valuable to James for him or his equally Saints-mad son Robby, nine, to wear to the match so a toast is the next best thing.

After the ceremony James will take all the family, including his two girls Dacey, three, and Eloisa, 18 months, and cousins Ken and Pam, in a limousine to watch the match live at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

He said: "It's something I never thought I'd get to see, so now it's come around I just want to make the most of it."

Few supporters could boast the same dedication as James, who first went to a Saints match when he was seven.

The 13-year season ticket holder has started a charity to help disadvantaged children go to matches, lives in a house called the Dell and has even converted supporters of rival teams.

Joining James and family in the limo will be chum Kevin Donaghy who used to support Aberdeen.
