Southampton maths teacher Simon Cookson will defend the Jack Kerfoot Memorial Cup at the Shropshire Golf Club in Telford tomorrow - the first major tournament in the English blind golf calendar for 2003.
Cookson won in 2002 and currently holds the lowest handicap in the EBGA. He will be playing alongside brother Jay in the 18-hole Stableford event which includes another Hampshire blind golfer in Mike Loton.
There will be 25 English Blind Golf Association members taking part in what is a major ranking event with merit points counting towards gaining a place in this year's England team.
Other high profile blind golfers taking part include the EBGA's current captain Malcolm Elrick.
