MOTTISFONT ended their league progranmme with a comfortable victory over already-relegated North Baddesley on Wednesday evening.

In a one-sided but sporting match, the visitors were under pressure virtually throughout and could not muster a shot on target in the entire 90 minutes.

A fierce, low Mike Burgess cross was turned into goal by a Baddesley defender for the only goal of the first half.

Two penalties converted by Alan Bundy, either side of a Burgess volley, completed a comfortable victory for the home side, who have finished third in the Premier table.

The match provided a good warm-up for Font's Trophyman Senior Cup final this coming Monday. The match is a 3pm kick-off at Stoneham Park (the old AC Delco ground) in Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh. AFC Target will provide the opposition.

Reverse for Reserves

Mottisfont Rserves also completed their season, going down 3-2 to Hamble Harriers in an exciting match last Saturday.

After drawing with eventual Division 1 champions Locksley the previous Wednesday, Font's result could well have seen Harriers sneak the title if Locksley hadn't been successful against Bishopstoke.

A rare Rob Cardy goal and an Andy Phillips penalty made for an interesting contest in a very sporting match.

A change of sport on Good Friday boosted Font's funds to the tune of £150.

A golf tournament organised by Dave Deighton was enjoyed by all the participants, and the Club would like to thank Dave and all who took part.
