LAURA Fisher-Lathwell, the 23-year-old legal secretary killed in a car crash last week, died from internal injuries, an opening inquest heard.
At the Newport hearing, traffic PC David Main confirmed criminal investigations were on-going into the crash at Calbourne on Easter Sunday.
The hearing was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
A man was today due to appear at the Island Crown Court, Newport, in connection with the crash.
Andrew Davidson, 23, of Colwell Chine Road, Freshwater, is charged with perverting the course of justice when an offender was suspected of causing death through dangerous driving.
He is also charged with permitting Tom Rudge to use a Citroen car without insurance.
On Sunday night, friends of Laura staged a rally from Ryde to the crash scene. About 100 vehicles made the pilgrimage.
