NEIGHBOURCARE'S new charity shop opened its doors to the public in Andover's Union Street.
Volunteers applauded as the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mrs Mary Fagan cut the ribbon to open the shop - a result of much community fundraising.
Mrs Fagan said: "I do not think I have seen a shop so carefully arranged. So much has been achieved.
"Neighbourcare really has been a wonderful story and they are so lucky to have so many dedicated volunteers." Test Valley Mayor Tony Gentle attended the opening along with the leader of the council, Cllr Ian Carr.
Manager of the shop, Pam Delderfield, said: "Our staff have worked so hard and people have said what a nice idea this is for the community."
Money raised from the shop will provide services for the community.
Donations may be left at 14 Union Street.
Alternatively, people can phone 01264 404142 to arrange collection.
