An event being organised by Hampshire County Council will see key figures from Hampshire's business community coming together to celebrate business excellence and the contribution it makes to the county's economy.
The event, to be hosted by the county council's chairman, Councillor Peter Hutcheson, will take place in the Great Hall in Winchester on May 8.
With about 400 guests expected, and Alan Titchmarsh as guest speaker, it will be the largest event of its kind in recent years.
The county is home to a wealth of award-winning companies - from winners of the prestigious Queen's Award for Industry to those that have been successful in local competitions across the county.
Many of the companies recognised for the contribution that they make to the economy will be at the reception.
Councillor Hutcheson commented: "One of the county council's key aims is to achieve economic prosperity, and this event is a chance for us to show our appreciation to the local businesses which play a major role in helping us to achieve this aim.
"We also hope that members of the business community will use this opportunity to find out more about the range of business support services which are provided by the county council.''
Derek Beaves, head of marketing for George Gale & Co, Hampshire's oldest independent family brewery, said: " I am pleased to have this chance to celebrate the breadth and diversity of business in Hampshire, and grateful for this excellent opportunity to meet other successful businesses in the county.''
Information about some of the county council's support services will be displayed on exhibition stands at the Great Hall - including Trading Standards' Buy with Confidence trader approval scheme, which supports local businesses and gives consumers peace of mind when choosing a company.
The Early Education and Childcare Unit will also be showing how it supports businesses by providing childcare places, and helps employers to advise their staff on finding a balance between work and home responsibilities.
The county council's Economic Development Office, which will also have a stand at the reception, provides a range of support services for businesses, including advice to new businesses in the county and those considering expansion, marketing and promotional advice, and assistance for companies looking to develop markets overseas.
The reception will also provide members of the business community with a chance to sample local food and wine supplied by Hampshire Fare, Hampshire's own association of local producers of food, drink and craft.
