TRAFFIC police have had a disappointing response to their appeal for witnesses following a crash which left a Fareham pensioner fighting for her life.
Not a single person has come forward after officers urged anyone who saw the head-on crash on the A32 Wickham Road near Fareham last Wednesday to get in contact.
A 76-year-old woman is still in a "critical" condition at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
She was travelling southbound in her red Austin Mini when she was in collision with a Daewoo Matiz travelling in the opposite direction.
The other driver - a Portsmouth woman in her 30s - suffered a broken leg and hip in the accident, which happened at 1pm.
PC Susan Heath of Fareham traffic police said: "The woman's condition has not changed since Friday.
"We have had no further new witnesses and so we are still appealing for anyone who can help to come forward.
"Witness appeal boards have been put up on the roadside.
"Depending on how our investigation goes today we may decide to quiz motorists in the area."
