Southampton's first game after the FA Cup final will come just three days later - in Aberdeen.

Former Dons star Gordon Strachan will take his cup finalists to Pittodrie for a match to celebrate Aberdeen's centenary year.

The game, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, with a 7.30pm kick-off, could also see Saints bring with them the FA Cup trophy if they have successfully defeated Arsenal in Cardiff the Saturday before.

Strachan is considered a Dons legend and was recently voted as one of the club's top 100 players in their 100 years of existence. He helped them win the Scottish League Premier title under Alex Ferguson in 1980 and the European Cup Winners Cup with them in 1983. He also helped them win the Scottish Cup in 1982, 1983 and 1984.

Aberdeen chief executive, Keith Wyness, said: "I am delighted that Gordon Strachan is bringing his team to Pittodrie for this friendly match to celebrate our centenary year.

"Gordon has a strong link with AFC and we are proud to have him as an official afc100 legend.

"The match will be a great event and if Southampton are successful in the FA Cup Final, the team will be bringing the cup to the centenary challenge match to celebrate their victory."

The sides will compete for the 'Friendship Cup' which celebrates the special relationship between the two clubs. At half-time the Aberdeen veterans six-a-side team will also play.

Tickets are now available priced at £12 for all areas of the stadium and £6 for concessions.

l SAINTS have been allocated the one-time 'lucky' north dressing room at the Millennium Stadium for the FA Cup final.

The teams using the north dressing room won the first 13 matches played at the ground.

After that stadium officials brought in Feng Shui 'experts' in a bid to end the curse.

After that failed, they brought in Welsh artist Andrew Vicari, who lives in Picasso's former house in the south of France.

He painted a flowing red mural containing a horse, sun and a phoenix rising from the ashes in a bid to exorcise any demons contained within the changing room.

It had the desired effect. In the very next match played there Stoke City, allocated the 'cursed' changing room, defeated Brentford to win the Nationwide League Second Division play-off final.

The very next day Birmingham, using the south dressing room, defeated Norwich in the First Division play-off final!
