Heather Humby has been re-elected IW Council chairman.
Cllr Humby was unanimously returned to her post alongside deputy Buster Bartlett at the IW Council's annual meeting.
But there was a shock for former vice-chairman John Bowker who was ousted from the post in a secret ballot in favour of Cllr Peggy Jarman.
No details of the behind-the-scenes falling out have emerged although Cllr Bowker, now on the back-benches for the first time since his election in 1989, is understood to be considering his position within the Island Liberal Democrat party.
Cllr Shirley Smart and Cllr Peter Harris were both re-elected as leader and deputy leader.
