THE Daily Echo is launching a joint appeal with Southampton General Hospital to find a new volunteer to deliver the newspaper to the wards.
Two volunteers used to take a trolley around the hospital asking people if they wanted a copy of the paper, but one of the ladies has now left, meaning patients are missing out on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday editions of the Daily Echo.
All that is required is two and a half hours on each of those days, pushing the trolley around the wards to sell the paper.
Kim Sutton, volunteer co-ordinator, said: "We're in a bit of a predicament because the other lady is covering at the moment, but she can't do it any more.
"We haven't got anyone for Saturday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, so the only times people are getting their Daily Echo are Thursday and Friday.
"They come in at 11.30am and take the trolley around to the wards asking people if they want the Daily Echo."
If you can help deliver our news to the people of Southampton General Hospital on any one of the required days, call Kim Sutton on 023 8079 6062.
