A DISUSED ferry has a new home in Southampton while she undergoes a major renovation.
Southsea - which used to ferry passengers from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight - has been dragged into the new dry berth facility at Driver's Wharf to begin restoration.
Heritage group the Avon River Historic Vessel and Navigation Trust has stored the decommissioned ferry all over the south in its search for a dry dock to house the vessel.
Dave Davis of Bitterne Triangle, Southampton, is to try to help restore the ship to her former glory.
He became involved when a friend at the Bristol-based heritage group suggested the boat could be a restaurant at Ocean Village.
