A MAJOR new refurbishment plan for St Mary's Church in Broughton has been launched.
Over the next three years the overall theme is to transform the church from being a house of God to a home of God.
Rector, Rev Ron Corne, said: "We have many families within Broughton who would love to come to Sunday school, but without a meeting room, toilets and a kitchen, it is almost impossible to run such a group. Everyone can be part of this project and we want to include all the villagers in this appeal."
Mr Corne added: "St Mary's is the parish church and is there for everyone."
The new plan consists of toilets, a kitchen, a meeting room, painting interior walls and ceiling of the church, carpeting the isles and fitting all new pews with full length pew cushions.
To enable the Parochial Church Council to carry out the project they need to raise £10,0000.
Mr Corne said: "Many hands make light work and many contributors will bring the funds necessary to complete the job speedily.
