Havant guaranteed their Dr Martens League Premier Division status with a dramatic, late fightback in last night's 3-3 draw at champions Tamworth.
Having taken an early James Taylor lead, the Hawks fell 3-1down to their FA Trophy semi-final conquerors, but hit back twice in the last eight minutes through Neil Champion and a cracking, late strike from Dean Blake.
"We had a young side out again tonight and we got what we deserved against the champions. Our bravery has been rewarded," smiled Hawks co-manager Mick Jenkins.
Hawks are now on 51 points, six clear of fourth-to-bottom Halesowen, who have just two games left and a vastly inferior goal difference.
Cowes Sports won 2-1 at Christchurch in the Jewson Wessex League. Priory's 17-year-old Marc Jackson cancelled a first-half Dean Rayner strike, but ta Mark Burrows penalty won the match.
