CAMPAIGNERS fighting plans for an asylum seekers' centre at Lee-on-the-Solent meet today to prepare their next line of attack.
The meeting comes shortly before the government is due to decide whether to press ahead with its controversial plan to house 400 male asylum seekers at Daedalus.
It is expected the Home Office will announce whether to apply for planning permission in mid May.
Daedalus Action Group campaigner Derek Kent said residents were still left in the dark about when the announcement will be made.
However, he believes it will be sometime after a three-strong delegation from the Home Office meet Fareham civic chiefs on May 9.
"We have had no dates," said Mr Kent.
"But we would have thought it would make sense for the government to make its decision after the May 9 meeting.
"We've all had a bit of a rest the last few days but we are now working on different parts of the campaign.
"We are feeling very positive and doing everything we can."
A Home Office spokesman refused to say when officials would announce whether thegovernment intended to press ahead with the accommodation centre.
