MORE big-name acts to appear at a weekend of major music events at Hampshire's Rose Bowl cricket ground are to be announced on Friday.
Stars including Blue and Darius are already lined up to appear in the first ever pop concert to be held at the home of Hampshire Cricket - part of a two-day event at the Rose Bowl over the bank holiday weekend of August 30 and August 31.
Blue will be headlining on the Saturday night, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra leading Sunday night's classical line-up.
As already revealed in the Daily Echo, boy band Blue will be joined for the pop concert by former Pop Idol contestant Darius Danesh, Fame Academy runner-up Sinead Quinn, 3SL and new Irish boy band D'side.
Providing a blast from the past will be 1960s group The Drifters.
Joining the Royal Philharmonic for Sunday's Last Night of the Proms-style concert will be singer and TV presenter Aled Jones.
The concerts are expected to attract up to 15,000 to the West End cricket ground and are the first of a series of events aimed at raising the Rose Bowl's profile as a combined sports and entertainments venue.
Tickets, priced £22 for each night, will be available from Monday. Ticket hotline: 0871 222 3943.
Look out in the Daily Echo for the latest on the concerts.
