Hampshire make just two changes from the team which lost to Yorkshire for their final match of the season at home to Staffordshire.
Both of those come in the Men's B team where Pete Castle and Robert Heard return after missing the last match through family reasons. John Burbidge is unavailable and Danny Ballard retains his place in the Men's B. Darren Hawken returns to the reserves and is joined by newcomer Dennis Murrell.
After the disappointments in Yorkshire it is important for Hampshire to stamp their authority on Staffordshire and pick up lots of points.
Hampshire are joint second on points in the Men's A section with Cambridgeshire. It is not likely they can make up the six-point difference between themselves and Yorkshire but, with the Tykes visiting Lancashire, they could cut the deficit.
Hampshire Ladies' A are one point off the bottom and without a victory this season, so this would be a good time to collect a win, especially with ladies manager Brenda Cummings celebrating her 200th game in charge.
That big 9-3 defeat to Yorkshire for the Men's B team ended their challenge for the top spot in their section, although all the points they can gain will obviously be good for Hampshire.
The icing on the cake ciould be the Ladies' B team. One point keeps them behind leaders Cheshire in their section with Yorkshire and Essex right on their tails. With Cheshire facing Warwickshire, who have not had a good season, it will all be going to the wire.
