SHADOWS fans are in for a big treat when a former member of that legendary band stars in a musical spectacular in Eastleigh.
Bass guitarist Jet Harris, who lives on the Isle of Wight, will be headlining a show at Breezers in Southampton Road on Friday, April 25, starting at 8pm.
Jet was one of the original Shadows who backed Cliff Richard in the 1960s.
When he left the group Jet went on to have his own top ten hits, including Diamonds.
Last month Jet, who has been receiving standing ovations wherever he plays, topped the bill at the London Palladium in a highly successful Stars of the Sixties rock 'n' roll spectacular.
Now he is set to bring his magical guitar-playing and those famous Shadows step routines to Eastleigh.
Special guest star at the Eastleigh show will be another 1960s star, John Leyton, who as well as making chart-topping hits like Johnny Remember Me was also a big screen idol.
The Breezers bill also includes Pete Oakman's Bruvvers - Joe Brown's band - and other top musicians Cliff Hall and Robbie.
The show is being staged in association with Movement Entertainment and a spokesman said there would be three hours of live music. There will also be a collection for Oxfam Music for Life.
Breezers also has some more 1960s specials in the pipeline with Wee Willie Harris and Mike Berry set to take to the stage on May 30.
The show starts at 8pm. Tickets are on sale at Breezers on 023 8061 9090 or M2, The Bargate Shopping Centre, Southampton, on 023 8023 1949.
The Daily Echo has five pairs of tickets up for grabs to see Jet Harris at Breezers on Friday. To be in with a chance of winning a pair just answer the following question:
Which former Shadow played with Jet Harris on the number one hit Diamonds?
