BBC South Today weather presenter Alina Jenkins dropped into Oxfam's bookshop in Southampton to help in a nationwide search to find the nation's favourite book.
The Big Read is a national campaign designed to get people reading - and discover which book is the most loved in the country.
Hampshire residents can help in the search by taking part in a phone-poll which runs until this Saturday. By calling 0901 111 0820 people can take part in the vote which will compile the list of Britain's top 100 books.
She said: "I've really enjoyed reading the Harry Potter series. I've read each one at least four times and loved every minute but my favourite was the Goblet of Fire.
"I took it on holiday and read it in about three days. I could hardly put it down and was on the edge of my chair for the last four chapters."
