Chairman, Ann Reeve, opened Winchester Flower Arrangement Society's April meeting by thanking members who had made the sale at the Brooks Centre the best yet.
She reminded members that next month they were meeting at the new restaurant at the Hillier Arboretum, for a garden visit.
Worksheets were available for the workshop, designing glass, in June.
The competition, for a miniature, "Leaves", was won by Kate Craig.
Elizabeth Nation, tutor and fellow member, demonstrated Ikebana unzipped; using mainly blossom and spring flowers, she showed a variety of styles both ancient and contemporary.
At the end, she was joined by two of her pupils and they created a flowing design across the stage, using five separate containers.
