Alresford's Hayley Vining will be joining 15,000 other people to walk the streets of London in a midnight charity event on Saturday, May 10th.

She'll be a member of a five-strong team taking part in the sixth annual Playtex Moonwalk Marathon to raise money for breast cancer care and research.

The girls, who met at Bournemouth University, will all be sporting bras fashioned as puppies to attract attention and boost donations.

Hayley (21) knows a thing or two about profile-raising - she's a public relations assistant for Winchester City Council.

"We will be having lots of fun and giving others a bit of a laugh, too," she said.

"It's a great way to increase awareness of the charity but, behind all the fun, we are still thinking of the serious effect breast cancer has on people's lives and the sorrow that it can cause."

Hayley and her friends have set up a website for sponsors. If you'd like to support them, visit www.walkthepuppies.com or send a cheque to Walk the Puppies, 7, Summers Avenue, Bournemouth BH11 9D4.
