EASTLEIGH'S Fleming Park Leisure Centre has pulled together a package of activities to help reduce stress levels among children preparing for exams.

Youngsters can relax by playing on the centre's ten badminton courts, four squash courts, 18-hole golf course, football pitches or in either of the two swimming pools or 6,000 square feet gym, where they can join aerobic classes.

Leisure centre spokeswoman Rebecca Botto says: "Children and their parents are now under more stress preparing for exams than ever before.

"Children from as young as seven go through SATS tests.

"Stress can be a real problem for some people. Regular exercise has proved to assist in reducing stress levels.

"Exercise encourages parents and their children to spend more time together.

"You can gain a healthier lifestyle, longer life, greater confidence, increased stamina and a zest for life you will want to share with your children.

"There can be too much inactivity in our lives with fads such as PlayStation games and too much TV, so exercising as a family can reduce stress levels and increase family time."

Leisure centre chiefs hope families will plunge into the activity zone at the Passfield Avenue centre during the Easter holidays.
