Romsey clinched their expected promotion to London Division Four South-West with a professional and calculated crushing of lowly Hamble, totalling 15 tries in a mammoth 91-5 success that ensured they lifted the Hampshire One title with some panache.
It was a true championship winning performance, showing all the class that has put them astride the rest of the field for much of the season.
They mesmerised Hamble's inexperienced side after an edgy opening as tensions grew and the home side raised their game to combat their visitors, but it was only a matter of time before Romsey broke loose.
Racing into a 41-0 interval lead, Romsey increased the pressure - Richard Dollimore adding three more tries to his season's 17 tally - while the outstanding Paul Double and once-again retiring Nick Roach helped themselves to two each.
Only a lapse in concentration in the final few minutes gifted Hamble a try, but coach Bryan Musk could not hide his delight at winning so comprehensively and the forwards dominating proceedings with such ease. Hamble barely won a scrum all day, even on their own put in.
Farnborough now face a daunting prospect of the play-off against Surrey One runners-up Old Paulines, but they were far from convincing in beating Eastleigh 22-10, in a result that keeps the latter waiting to find out whether they will return to Hampshire Two next season.
Going in the opposite direction will be Isle of Wight and Fawley who, despite losing to Alresford, still took the runners-up berth in Hampshire Two and make a swift return to the league they were relegated from last season.
Skipper Andy Headley was not very pleased with his side's performance and promised they would improve before next season's campaign.
While Alresford deserved their victory by the way they played, the penalty try and fortunate catch that resulted in two scores frustrated the home side, although they were barely blameless for the result. "But it does not matter now - we are promoted and that is all that counts," added Headley.
Fijian Billy Kauwale and winger Russell Froud got on the board for the Watersiders, whose defeat was not enough to let Ellingham & Ringwood overtake them, so the Foresters finished third, a fine return in their first season in this division.
But their win over lowly Ventnor was only courtesy of a last-minute try from Graham Lyddon, which Dawffyd Williams converted with the final kick of the game after the Islanders had given a good account of themselves.
E&R were reliant on Williams' boot otherwise. His five penalties kept them in touch as David Ball's side outscored their visitors three tries to one - but club captain Dick Birch was happy enough.
"We have enjoyed a tremendous season throughout the club," he said. "Our aim was simply to stay up in Hampshire Two, but as it happens, we only missed out on promotion by points difference."
Elsewhere, Isle of Wight completed an unbeaten league season of 16 wins from 16 starts in fine style by trouncing Lytchett Minster 46-8 with Alex Augustus and Stuart Browne touching down twice each.
In Hampshire One, New Milton & District finished a tremendous year in fourth place with a comfortable 29-0 win over Millbrook, allowing their visitors nothing in the way of ball which allowed the Foresters free reign of the park - winger Tom Morgan crossing twice.
Once again, Fareham Heathens' last match was a trip to local rivals Nomads and once again, they fell at the final hurdle as the relegated Portsmouth-based outfit returned 36-22 victors, which means Mark Steward's men closed their campaign in fifth place.
