A legal battle pitting a Winchester woman against her own brother over the £180,000 estate of their late mother is heading for London's High Court.

Angela Freeland, of Crossway, Shawford, near Winchester, is suing her brother Richard Thomas, of Queens Road, Teddington, in a dispute over their mother's will.

She complains in a writ, issued at London's High Court and just made public, that Thomas has failed to take the steps needed to administer her mother's estate and is asking the High Court to remove him as joint executor with her.

Their mother, Eileen Thomas, died on Christmas Day 2001, leaving an estate between her two children, according to Mrs Freeland's High Court writ.

Mrs Freeland says that even though she is also an executor she has not been able to administer her mother's estate properly, because her brother has failed to take the steps needed.

As well as asking the High Court to remove him as an executor, she is also asking the court to make any other directions it thinks fit when the case is heard.
