A teenage Winchester drug dealer is behind bars after being sentenced for possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Kieron Simei was arrested in January after being stopped by police when he was kicked out of a city pub for suspected drug dealing.

Officers who searched the father-of-one after his ejection from the Guildhall Tavern with a friend, who was later released without charge, uncovered 29 wraps containing suspicious white powder.

Subsequent analysis showed the powder to be a potent mix of crack cocaine and heroin - both highly addictive banned drugs.

Simei (18), from Longfield Road, Winchester, pleaded guilty to four charges including possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply and two charges of assaulting a police officer.

Simei's barrister told Winchester Crown Court that his client had had a chequered childhood and had suffered badly after his father was murdered when the youngster was just 13.

He added that since his arrest, on January 25th and subsequent detention, the teenager had stayed clear of drugs and wanted a chance to change his behaviour and become a father to his young child, who currently lives with his ex-girlfriend. However, Judge Patrick Hooton said that for such serious offences only a prison term would suffice.

He told Simei: "The worst bit of this story is the heroin, as that takes you into a different league. "I take into account your guilty plea and in particular what has been said about your father, but you must receive a custodial sentence and I sentence you to 18 months concurrent for both offences."
