Hampshire's Ladies B drew in Yorkshire in the British Inter-Counties Championships last weekend - but their three other sides all lost despite some sterling efforts.
Both the men's A and B teams were left disappointed with the senior squad missing doubles at vital stages, Steve Phipps excepted as he beat former Embassy champion John Walton 3-1.
Doogie Ralph had the consolation of a 14-darter, Paul Hogan scrapped his way to a 3-2 win and Andy Mitchell's 3-0 win posted a fourth point for Hampshire.
The B team were four men down and were well beaten but Rick Lowther blasted out a 157 finish to take his set 3-1 with a Trophyman Award winning 28.71 average. John Burbidge and Tony Whitcher also registered.
Doubles were also the key to defeat for the ladies A team with Jane Monaghan and Sue Kerridge the only winners.
The overall result leaves Hampshire on 167 points and in equal third place in the league table going into their home tie with Staffordshire on May 11.
In the Bishop's Waltham Men's Winter League, Wheatsheaf A and Hedge End will battle out the Howard Shergold Trophy on May 12 at The Crowns Inn, Bishop's Waltham.
Steve Perren finished a great 14-darter with a 170 finish for Hedge End while Jason Richards (White Swan) and Barry Shawyer (Wheatsheaf B) hit 180s.
