TWO blind golfing brothers are holding a fundraising event at Meon Valley Golf Club near Wickham on Tuesday to raise funds to send players to the World Championships in Australia next year.

Simon and Jay Cookson from Bishop's Waltham are both members of the English Blind Golf Association, and are being supported by celebrity and media golfers including former Saints favourite Matthew Le Tissier as well as local company teams,

The Cooksons suffer from a hereditary eye condition, but the handicap does not stop them from enjoying their golf. Between them, they have won most of the major tournaments in the EBGA calendar and are both members of the England team.

About 70 players are expected to play a team stableford match.
