L'HOMME du Train, or The Man on the Train, brings together two of France's best-known performers - pop icon Johnny Hallyday and veteran actor Jean Rochefort.
Monsieur Manesquier (Rochefort) is a retired school teacher who has lived all his life in a small provincial town and now rattles round in the huge, decaying family mansion.
His life is comfortable but extremely routine, down to the finest detail.
Milan (Hallyday) is an ageing criminal who arrives in town to case the bank and finds himself becoming the reluctant house guest of Manesquier.
Despite the gulf between them, the pair begin to bond as they wait for, respectively, a triple-heart-bypass and the bank job that are both scheduled for the coming Saturday.
Rochefort and Hallyday have great on-screen chemistry in this tale of opposites attracting.
