A new dawn could be on the horizon for New Forest band The Morning.
Word of the group's local success has spread to the big smoke and a gig in south west London's popular venue The Telegraph is set up for April 29.
The Morning - who gigged for many years as Livewire - are now a three-piece set up of Jon Vernham, Neil Downton and drummer Will Blake, after Nick Surtees decided to backpack around Australia.
The trio have lost none of the quality that has been inspired by the likes of Bifffy Clyro and Idlewild and are putting the finishing touches to a set list especially for The Telegraph at Brixton, whose stage has been graced by The Clash and Basement Jaxx.
"It's great to get our first gig in London," said lead vocalist and guitarist Jon. "There have been some changes in the band recently and the good thing is that something positive has come out of it. Let's hope the right people come along and see what we can do!"
The Morning will be taking some advice from quality Southampton set-up and Led Zeppelin fans Spyderbaby who are making a return to London and playing at the venue.
Both groups are supporting The Approach, a massive unsigned Uni band from the north. Tickets (£5) are available on the door with a flyer from both bands and travel details can be obtained from The Morning's bass guitarist Neil Downton on 023 8081 1644.
Upcoming local dates for the band include: Joiners Arms, Southampton (April 16), Mr Smith's, Bournemouth (April 17) and The Hobbit, Southampton (April 25). Call the venues for further details.
