SIX of the longest serving members of Andover Tesco staff joined Test Valley mayor Tony Gentle and manager Trevor Osgood, to open the River Way store's extension on Monday.
Tim Crisp, Greta Compton, Lynne Harding, Pauline Gittings, Pat Slingo and Yvonne Curless, who between them have more than 150 years service, popped a bottle of champagne to mark the official opening.
Staff celebrated by donating £500 to the Enham Trust for recreational and educational equipment to stimulate and develop disabled employees.
The first customer through the door was also rewarded with a Tesco hamper.
The extension brings a variety of new features and non-food departments to the store. They include extensive clothing, hardware and photo processing as well as the existing food range. There are also new food counters including hot chicken, and an organics range.
