THE two black swans at Exbury Gardens are a truly beautiful sight as they glide across their own lake at the far end of the estate.
Until recently there was just a sad looking Romeo, still mourning the death of his Juliet, who was killed by a fox as she sat on her nest.
But now things are looking up for Romeo.
A new female black swan was introduced to the lake a few days ago, and seems to be settling in well.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened to guard against a repeat of the fox attack.
The de Rothschild family and staff at the gardens felt there could be only one Juliet, so they need some inspiration for a name for the new swan.
And that's where readers can help.
If you think you have an inspirational name for Romeo's new love, Exbury would love to hear from you.
Just write the name down on a postcard and send it to: Name the Swan Competition, c/o Victoria Martin, Exbury Gardens, Exbury, Southampton SO45 1AZ, to arrive no later than Monday, April 21.
The winning name will be chosen by Mr Edmund de Rothschild, and the winner will receive a family season ticket for Exbury Gardens, and will have their photograph taken with the swans.
