WITH the help of a Welsh druid, the Daily Echo's army of readers can make certain of a Saints victory in Sunday's crunch FA Cup clash with Watford.

Cerridwen DragonOak who famously blessed St Mary's to end the team's dire run of results at the new stadium during the first few months it was opened, has a new plan to spur the boys on to greater glory.

The latest in an ancient line of Welsh druids and an ardent Saints fan, Cerridwen reckons if every supporter touches our special Saints football and thinks "Win Saints!" the team will cruise to victory.

The ball pictured is the one used the last time Saints scored at Villa Park in a 1-0 Premiership win in October.

Cerridwen, whose real surname is Connelly, has also donned one of the Daily Echo's Saints wigs to bless the team to make doubly sure the magic makes its mark.

The powerful magic from the valleys will inspire Beattie, Marsden and Co to a 2-1 triumph over unfancied Watford, she reckons.

"All fans should touch the ball on this page and think 'Win Saints!' You shouldn't try too hard, just do it with joy and enthusiasm," she advises.

She explained how the power of the mind will see-off the opposition and see Saints into the final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, another venue she has blessed - this time to ward off the "curse" of the visitors dressing room.

Cerridwen said: "Thought has electrical energy and every thought that comes from Southampton will build up. As more and more people touch the ball it becomes like a battery or turning up the volume on the radio. The more people do it, the louder the volume gets.

"All the electrical impulses will go all over Southampton and because the team are based here all of the energy will travel with them and make them feel super confident and at their best."

The same is true of her blessing of the team outside the Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium yesterday, which was conducted with a huge broom to "sweep the air".

She said: "I have a brand new broom and I am going to use it to sweep the air and to amplify what I started with the original blessing. That was for the stadium but this is for the players.

"It is going to make them win. It will give them the confidence that there are people out there who care.

"These things that I do empower people and make them more effective to give them the edge and win."
