THERE was a number of green fingers recently at St Andrew's Pre-School in Tidworth - and it had nothing to do with coloured handprints!
The youngsters spent the day transforming their back garden into a space to be proud of - complete with wildlife area, vegetable patch and somewhere for them to grow herbs and flowers.
The make-over was made possible thanks to Barclays Bank which donated £500, and Homebase which gave 50 per cent off all the items the pre-school bought.
"I'd asked any mums if they could help out with a vegetable patch and one of the mums works for Barclays and said the project was something the bank could help with," said pre-school leader Mary Evans.
"Barclays pick a community project to sponsor and we were delighted when they said they'd help us.
"What started out as a little project has spiralled and everyone is thrilled with the results," said Mary.
