Graham Tappenden (Homestores Sensas) took a massive bag of 87lb 12oz in the second round of he Nigel Turner/Thomsons Financial Services Sunday Series on Longbridge and Whitemoor.
Tappenden was one of 28 anglers fishing Longbridge and his haul included 60lb of silver fish and 27lb of carp taken on waggler and pellet from peg 15.
He goes through to the final in September with Whitemoor winner Pete Newman (Poingdestres), who not only joined Tappenden in the final but also won the golden peg with 44lb 12oz from peg 28.
Newman's haul included 30lb of carp plus tench and skimmers on waggler and paste and he won £188 in prize money.
Second at Longbridge was Marc Illingworth (Homestores Sensas) with 79lb 14oz from peg 22 with Geoff Charman taking 63lb 12oz for third, Chris Albiston (Bournemouth Fish-ing Lodge) reeling in 57lb 10oz for fourth and Steve Bucksey (Cormorants) coming fifth with a 50lb 8oz haul.
Second on Whitemoor was Dave Pool (Poingdestres) with 35lb 4oz from peg 6 with Dave Self (Eastleigh DAC) third with 33lb 15oz, Dave Sharp (Cormor-ants) fourth with 32lb 14oz and Neil Tappin (Mosella) fifth with 27lb 5oz.
Series points to date: Marc Illingworth (Homestores Sensas) 49, Graham Tappenden (Homestores Sensas) 47, Pete Newman (Poingdestres) 46, Neil Tappin (Mosella) 44, Ray Hayward (Homestores Sensas) 42.
There was further joy for Tappenden on Witherington Farm in an open match on the inner circuit.
He returned a winning bag of 40lb 14oz with Steve Trevitt in second on 33lb 8oz. Others: Gary Etheridge 32lb and John Gray 31lb 10oz.
Darren Fordham won Saturday's open on the outer circuit with 58lb, followed by Ashley Tompkins in second on 38lb 4oz. Third was Mark Cannings with 30lb 12oz and fourth was John Walker 30lb with 10oz.
Thursday's match on Stone-ham Bottom Lake was close with Rich Allen taking tench and skimmers on the pole for 28lb 10oz from Alan Pragnal on 26lb 1oz. Others: Paul White 23lb, Dave Self 20lb 11oz, Kev Hatcher 16lb 9oz and Chalky White 15lb 7oz.
Eastleigh held a club match on Sunday on Spring Lake at Hordle with a neck-and-neck finish, Allen again on fine, taking 34lb 7oz of carp on the pole.
Pragnal was a whisker behind on 34lb 6oz and White drew for third place with Lawrence Glynn on 29lb 11oz.
Others: Mick Marsh 29lb 7oz, Dean Rowden 21lb 8oz.
