Winchester KS will play Harting in this winter season's Hampshire Cricket Board indoor six-a-side final - but when the tie will be played is anyone's guess.

The HCB semi-finals and final were due to have been completed last weekend, but severe traffic congestion on the M27 delayed the scheduled start by two hours.

"It's now a case of identifying a mutually convenient date and time to play the final, and fit in with Hampshire's use of the Rose Bowl," commented an HCB spokesman.

"With the summer season almost upon us, it may well be that the final isn't played until the autumn."

Both Winchester and Harting, who won the DSouth East Hants League at Fareham, coasted to semi-final victories.

WKS beat depleted Easton & Martyr Worthy by five wickets and Harting knocked out BAT Sports with some ease.

Once Paul Mark (2-15) had struck two early blows, Easton were always on the back foot and only Andy Birch (34) - and latterly the injured Steve Green (15) - made significant contributions in their modest 101-4.

Jimmy Taylor (25) and Paul Marks (27) carried Winchester to the brink of vicory.

Although Richard Kenway (32), David Banks (29) and Ricky Rawlins (26) all made their mark with the bat, BAT bowled poorly and handed Harting an easy four-wicket win in the other semi-final.

BAT conceded 42 extras while Simon James (27), Colin Pay (26) and Simon Barnard (25) to ease Harting into their first HCB final.

South Wilts are hot favourites to lift the HCB Under-16 indoor crown at the Rose Bowl on Sunday.

They face a round-robin final against Bournemouth and Havant, with West of England U15 all-rounder James Hayward expected to be their match winner.

Matches: 6.30pm Bournemouth v Havant, 7.30pm South Wilts v Bournemouth, 8.30pm Havant v South Wilts.
