A GROUP of girl footballers are the latest fans to pledge their support to the Saints FA Cup campaign.
The youngsters from Sholing Technology College in Southampton were knocked out in the semi-finals in a national football tournament but they are hoping Saints can go one step further.
The Year 7 team from the Middle Road school came fourth in the Fox Kids final held in Manchester but won the Top Skills category for their ball ability.
Now the 11 and 12-year-olds are hoping Southampton Football Club can beat Watford in their semi-final at Villa Park on Sunday - and go all the way to take the cup next month.
Head teacher Karen Dagwell was thrilled at the girls' performance in the Fox tournament - especially winning the Top Skills category out of all the girls and boys playing that day.
Demonstrating skills with "keepie-uppies", goal saving prowess and general ball control the ten-girl squad won themselves Fox fleeces to go with the medals they took home from the regional final in Slough a month ago.
Ms Dagwell said: "The kids have done fantastically well."
Children from the Year 7 and 8 squads were also celebrating recently when they made it to the final match of the regional Adidas Community Cup in Bristol where they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol Rovers.
