A 13-year-old boy was punched while crossing playing fields at Stanmore, Winchester.
His attacker was a male aged 17 to 18, and threw the punch in what police describe as "an intent to rob".
The victim was crossing the field near the Carroll Youth Centre, in Somers Close, between 9.50 and 10.05pm last Friday night. He was with two friends.
A gang of seven or eight older youths approached the group of three and one demanded money from the 13-year-old.
The victim said he had no cash and was punched, with one of his teeth cutting his lip. One of his friends was then rugby-tackled to the ground before the group of older youths left empty-handed.
The youth who threw the punch is described as white, between 5ft 7ins to 5ft 10ins tall, with a slim build and black hair.
