Eastleigh Voices is looking for volunteers to help leave a lasting record of local families for future generations.
The community project - funded by a Reading Families Millennium Award - will be literary-focused and involves inspiring children to write the stories of their families for this and future generations to read.
A selection of the most interesting pieces is to be published in a book which will be sold at local venues.
Now the project is looking for volunteers to attend its first meeting at the Cranbury Community Centre, Eastleigh, on Tuesday April 15, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
A spokeswoman said: "If you would like to get involved in helping to run the project or feel you can contribute in any way, please come along to the first meeting."
Further information can be obtained by telephoning Emma Golby-Kirk on 023 8065 1613.
