HAVING bricks smashed over your head or being suspended from a six-foot pole would be most people's idea of torture.
Watching someone else do it - now that's entertainment.
There's no one in the world that does it with the awe-inspiring panache of the Chinese State Circus.
Their breathtaking stunts, graceful choreography and colourful showmanship is part of a 2,000-year-old tradition that dazzles audiences of all ages.
With a show that features increasingly more skilful performances from inspiring new artists (and always includes the children's favourite -- the ancient Lion Dance) the Chinese State Circus have toured the globe in a celebration of culture and art.
Now Hampshire can enjoy it too, as they bring their enchanting two-hour spectacular to Southampton and Southsea for 2003.
The troupe will be appearing at the Circus Site in Bursledon Road, Southampton, from April 29 until May 5, and on Southsea Common, from May 26 until June 8. For information and ticket bookings call 07030 190190.
