SOUTHAMPTON'S Commonwealth Gold medallist Pete Waterfield missed out on the medals competing for Great Britain in the Arena Diving Champions Cup in Stockholm at the weekend.
Waterfield teamed up with Mark Shipman, of Sheffield, for the 3m synchro event yesterday following an injury to Shipman's usual partner of Tony Ally.
Without the precision and understanding that comes through constant training, they finished seventh.
On Saturday Waterfield joined Commonwealth silver medallist Leon Taylor of Sheffield in the 10m synchro, but a disappointing dive saw them finish seventh again.
Taylor took a bronze medal off the 10m yesterday to give the British squad their second medal of the two-day meet.
The new pairing of Jane Smith and Tandi Gerrard had won the 3m synchronised event the day before.
Double Commonwealth medallist Smith of Sheffield and Gerrard of Leeds went into the final in second place but pipped Ukraine for first place.
