ALPHA B took another step towards the Premier Division as Alister Turner and Alan McAlpine and Glenn Medcalf recorded a 10-0 whitewash of two-man Alpha D.

There were also maximums from Adrian Hunt and Anne Longland as Snows E clocked up a 8-2 victory over Ordnance Survey A.

Five games out of five from Dave Dobson helped St Denys to a 8-2 victory over Four Ts A and a 6-4 victory against two-man Alpha C.

Julian Rickman and Barry Dobson both had a brace of wins in the first game.

Waterside D have taken the Division 2 title after a 6-4 victory against two-man Woolston B. Fleming Alison won all of his games for Woolston, while Dave Goodyer, Malcolm Bunce and Julie Eldridge each beat Rod Dudley.

After a 9-1 victory against Waterside F, Snows F look almost certain to finish runners-up.

Waterside E are just about holding on to third place after going down 6-4 to Four Ts B. Terry Jenvey played one of his few games for Four Ts and came away unbeaten, with Dave Cosway winning twice and Chris Sims once.

Reserve Shaun Newcombe won two games and Dan Ashton one for the losers.

Waterside G did well to hold Division 3 leaders Four Ts C to a draw.

Reserve Dan Long won two for Waterside, together with two from Luke Riche and one from Mark Heathorn.

But it looks as if Four Ts may be pipped at the post as unbeaten Simmarians took three points from Ordnance Survey B last week and they now require three points from their remaining match against bottom-of-the-table Hospitals to take the title.

Waterside J had a marathon evening when, in order to fit in a back fixture, they played two matches on the same night - and won them both! They defeated Waterside H 7-3 and Waterside K 6-4.

Southampton West A have taken the Division 4 title by a wide margin, while Insurance B had a fairly easy 10-0 victory over a two-man Four Ts D team to take the second promotion spot. Pirelli A lost 4-6 to an improving Southampton West C team, with David McBeath returning another maximum.

The Southampton West B team of Roe Bennett, Alistair Jones and Dominic Cheeseman produced a 10-0 whitewash of Wimpey. And Pirelli B almost did the same in beating Alpha F 9-1, Alpha's game coming from Roy Adams and Neil Chandler in the doubles.
