Stoneham have maintained their superb record in the National Seniors Six-Man Championship by winning the title for the second time in three years.
Peter Price led his team to an emphatic 93-point victory over the Thetford Club from Norfolk in the final of the national competition played over two legs, home and away.
Stoneham gained the upper hand by winning by 21 points on Thetford's home patch, a long course with a standard scratch of 74.
"They expected to win that one so it put us in a great position for our home leg," smiled Stoneham captain Price, whose teams have also won the national fourman competition twice in three years.
When they came back to Stoneham, the home side cruised home by 72 points to crown a year-long competition which had seen them play eight league games - four home, four away -- then a semi-final in which they beat Birmingham's Shirley GC.
Stoneham's team was Peter Price, John White, Peter Thompson, Jim Hayball, Kevin Digby and Patrick Burke.
