Martin Le Mesurier parted the grey clouds which have hung over him since Tour School by finishing a sparkling second behind Welsh international Mark Mouland in the Mauritius Open.
Brokenhurst Manor clubman Le Mesurier finished third on the EuroProTour order of merit but missed out qualifying for his European Tour card in Spain last month.
But the former US College campaigner underlined his potential with a final round 65 to finish four shots behind Mouland in Mauritius.
Le Mesurier, in turn, was four shots ahead of the rest of the field which included European Tour veterans like Barry Lane, Ronan Rafferty and Philip Price.
Le Mesurier will play on the European Challenge Tour in 2003.
