HOBBITS are pretty much inescapable at the moment, thanks to the release of The Two Towers, the second film in the epic Lord of the Rings trilogy.
If you fancy going back to where it all started - but without the bother of actually reading the book - an acclaimed stage version of JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit comes to Southsea in January.
The imaginative adaptation of the children's fantasy has already enjoyed three national tours and two seasons at the Queen's theatre in London's West End.
Adapted by Glynn Robbins, known to millions of theatregoers for his adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, the show is directed by Roy Marsden - best-known for his TV portrayal of Inspector Dalgleish.
First produced in 1999, The Hobbit tells the story of a quest to find some magical treasure that must be returned to its rightful owners. You can see it at the Kings Theatre, Southsea on January 20. Call the box office on 023 9282 8282.
