HAMPSHIRE-based Rodd Industrial Design has completed the design of a new health unit set to be installed in pharmacies throughout the country.
The Wellpoint Interactive Health Centre is a freestanding monitoring and health advice unit and is the result of a ten- month project.
Featuring blood pressure, weight, heart rate, body mass index and body fat monitoring, the easy-to-use touch-screen console guides users through health check procedures and provides expert medical advice and information on life-style change and self-help groups. Results and leaflets can be printed off for further reference.
Terry Glancy, managing director of the Wellpoint Group, said: "Wellpoint's interactive health centre has been designed to help establish pharmacies as 'first stop' medical centres. We're delighted with the finished article; Rodd has succeeded in developing a welcoming, versatile facility that meets all of our objectives - and initial industry feedback has been incredibly enthusiastic."
