IF YOU fancy a change from the usual guitar-heavy gig, you could do worse than discover the creative Celtic charms of Bluehorses, described as 'the world's finest twin fiddle-driven contemporary retro-futuristic Celtadelic roots fusion music ensemble'.

There can't be many opportunities to see a live performance involving an electric-Celtic harp or space-mandolin, whatever that is. Just as a spectacle and a fun glam night out, the Bluehorses are worth a look. Incidentally fancy dress is the order of the night with a prize for best 'Glam Pirate at Christmas'.

The band has a loyal fanbase and their live shows have a reputation for getting the audience moving and sending them home happy and exhausted.

The Welsh-based 'Celtadelic rockers' will be playing tracks from Dragons Milk and Coal, a Mojo Album of the Month, and their latest critically-acclaimed offering Ten Leagues Beyond The Wild Worlds End.

The band, fronted by the ever-striking Liz Prendergast, have spent much of the past seven years on the road. They have played festivals throughout Europe from Spain to Scandinavia and shared stages with the likes of the Levellers and Hawkwind.

December 21, The Railway, Winchester. Tickets: £6. Box office: 01962 867795.
