The sound of carols filled the passenger terminal at Southampton International Airport as hundreds of people checked in for the airport's annual Christmas service.
Mayor of Southampton, Brian Parnell, together with his Eastleigh colleague, Gillian Connell, were among the congregation that gathered in the terminal's main concourse for the event.
Around 400 people, made up of airport staff, families and friends, listened to the choir of Thornden Secondary School, Chandler's Ford and pupils from Mansbridge Primary School perform during the eighth annual festive event organised by the airport.
A collection among the congregation raised more than £450 that will be split between charities picked by the two mayors.
The service was led by the airport's chaplain, Reverend Delvin Knower, who was with Eastleigh's Baptist Church before he retired. Afterwards the airport provided mince pies and mulled wine for the guests.
