Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-car head-on collision on the A33 at Kings Worthy on Saturday evening.

Firefighters cut the drivers - both women - from the wreckage and the road was closed for five hours.

A 65-year-old from Winchester, who was driving a Toyota Corolla broke both ankles and an arm and also damaged a knee.

The other car, a Renault Clio, was driven by a 54-year-old driver from Chandler's Ford, who was said to have sustained similar injuries.
