The thermometer may have been nudging the freezing mark, but that didn't deter a streaker from halting play in a football match in the New Forest.
It happened on Wednesday night during a Hampshire Senior Cup tie between Bashley and Winchester City.
A man, in his early twenties and in all his glory, suddenly burst onto the pitch and daringly spinted 70 yards in the freezing conditions before disappearing out of the main gate.
Stunned spectators were unable to identify him and Bashley secretary, Pete Plowman, commented: "We had 250 spectators here tonight, but nobody knows who he was.
"He was certainly very brave and far too quick for our stewards to catch him. Perhaps he was running an errand for Father Christmas!"
Bashley were a goal down at the time at the time, but presumably inspired by his dramatic intervention, went on to win the match 2-1 and end City's proud four-month-long unbeaten run.
