Romsey & Totton leapt two places in the table after finishing fourth in the third round of the Speedo League at Fleet.

The Boys 15/U relay team of Dan Lace, Marc Pinkney and Matt Tilbury brought in Jonathon Green from the lower age group to win two second places in the freestyle (53.00) and medley (1.00.44) relays.

The Girls 15/U team of Katie Hunter, Rachel Pearce and Jessica Fay were joined by Rachel Elkins who stepped up an age group to help the team to second place in the medley relay (1.07.78).

Catherine Whitley and Matt Green dominated the opposition in the 10-11 years backstroke by both winning in times of 39.22 and 41.44 respectively.

Marc Pinkney won the 15/U butterfly in 1.09.29, beating West Wight into second place by half a second.

Romsey also claimed nine runners-up places including Katie Hunter and Dan Lace in the 15/U backstroke (1.14.81 and 1.10.81 respectively).

Matt Tilbury was second in the 15/U breastroke (1.21.31) and, competing in a higher age group, second in the men's open butterfly (1.05.90). Matt Green was second in the 10-11 years freestyle (34.63).

Vicky White, Mike Reader, Jonathon Green, Dan Lace, Matt Tilbury, Holly Biffen, Jenny Whitley and Charlie Cardy all finished third, and the relay teams added more points including contributions from new young swimmers such as Anna Doswell, Zoe Underwood, Jacob Coy, Ollie Precious, Euan Witcombe, Elliot Kirby and Lee Anderton.

Romsey men's 6x50m freestyle relay team won the final race to finish agead of Christchurch Seagulls and City of Oxford on the night and leap-frogged them in the table.

Host club Hart won with Littlehampton and West Wight second and third respectively.
