THE village pond at Swanmore has been given a new lease of life, thanks to the hard work of dedicated conservation volunteers.
Over the past four months they have pulled out all the weeds, dug ditches and put in new plastic liner at the base of the 20ft wide pond.
Now filled with rainwater the scenic spot off Broad Lane is now back to its former glory.
Valerie Green, of Swanmore Conser-vation Volunteers, said: "It looks much better than it did. The village can once again take pride in its pond.
"We will be planting again in the spring."
